Measuring Vf/If when coupled to madmax

I have an emitter coupled to a MadMax that I wish to know some Vf values for. Since I don't have a means to measure current, the only way I can think of is to couple a Badboy to the emitter. Will I have to disconnect the emitter from the madmax first?
