My LSH-P just started acting up this evening. With the head screwed on tight, the light doesn't work. If I unscrew it a bit, it works fine. I swapped the Kroll and have the same problem. Anyone know what's going on here? Thanks.

I'm not sure but it sounds like it could have the flex problem talked about here some time back. Yes, I doubt it is the flex. We haven't seen a case of that since the rev2 design was implimented. You can send it in and let us take a look at it.

could it be that the retaining ring wasn't screwed down all the way when it was assembled?

It is entirely possible. It's hard to speculate at this point without seeing the actual unit.
