Music and flashlights, two worlds without connection? I was thinking to myself about songs which would be suitable as the "flashlight anthem" :grin2:

Spontaneously comes to mind
  • "Blinded by the light" by Manfred Mann's Earth Band
  • "Beginning to see the light" by Ella Fitzgerald
Any further suggestions? :D

Greetings from Germany

Oh it has to be Blinded by the light :D
lovecpf

Maybe consider:

"Shine a little Love" by ELO?
or maybe
"Super Trouper" by ABBA (yes that is where the name comes from)

Hmmm...given the many threads lamenting the overseas shipping costs of some lights, and the complete lack of availability of others, how about the Rolling Stones' classic...You Can't Always Get What You Want...

I never ever would have thought of that one. Great idea!

Or maybe that song with 'sun, sun, sun, here it come'

Oh yes, where comes this classic line from? Was it "Here comes the sun" from the Beatles?

:crackup:Whoahaha brillant! However: Immediate disqualification because my wife might sing it to me too often! :grin2:

Santana- Put your Lights on

Hey now, all you sinners
Put your lights on, put your lights on
Hey now, all you lovers
Put your lights on, put your lights on

Hey now, all you killers
Put your lights on, put your lights on
Hey now, all you children
Leave your lights on, you better leave your lights on

Cause there's a monster living under my bed
Whispering in my ear
There's an angel, with a hand on my head
She say I've got nothing to fear

There's a darkness living deep in my soul
I still got a purpose to serve
So let your light shine, deep into my home
God, don't let me lose my nerve
Don't let me lose my nerve

Hey now, hey now, hey now, hey now
Wo oh hey now, hey now, hey now, hey now

Hey now, all you sinners
Put your lights on, put your lights on
Hey now, all you children
Leave your lights on, you better leave your lights on

Because there's a monster living under my bed
Whispering in my ear
There's an angel, with a hand on my head
She say's I've got nothing to fear
She says: La illaha illa Allah
We all shine like stars
She says: La illaha illa Allah
We all shine like stars
Then we fade away

Well I just have to vote for "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" by Robert Cray. The refrain is perfect, the verses well they don't have much to do with any requirement for a flashlight.

Not many will know this tune and it will give away my age:
Triumph "The Blinding light show"

You're right, never heard of the band or the song. At this very moment I listen to it on youtube and I like it a lot! I guess I'll have to get the CD. Thanks for the suggestion, my musical horizon has widened a tiny bit.

Don't worry about revealing your age. I also listen to classical music which obviously was way before my time. :)
