I just upgraded my Dereelight MC-E to Xm-l and did see a very niceable increase in light. Use extention tube and two 18650's. Nothing spectacular. I am interested more in spill than throw. Hotspot was almost eliminated. Fairly good even light over radius. I am satisfied with the upgrade. Really lit up what I need to see. It did not really get as hot as the MC-E during use. Use light to feed a number of dogs at night. Like to see the yard lit up. Snakes are of particular interest during the summer time. Don't have to worry in SC right now.
Also it appears the Dereelight XM-L is about three times as bright as the Tiablo A9 Q5 that I have with the orange peel lens.
