I know there had been a few threads about this topic, but not specifically about people's experiences flying with spare lithium-ion laptop batteries in carry-ons.

I have read TSA's website saying loose batteries are not allowed.

I have a laptop with 3 batteries that I wish to bring on an upcoming trip. Obviosly, I can only latch/secure one to the laptop, the other two will be loose in my bag.

Qs:

1) Has anyone here ever brought in your carry on spare laptop lithium-ion batteries? What were your expriences? Did the TSA give you trouble?

2) For those who have brought onboard loose spare laptop batteries, how did you secure these batteries? Taped the contact points? Put these inside ziplock bags? Put these inside special laptop battery carriers?

Thanks for your input.
