Sooner or later, we'll actually have our FireFly lights. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif For those of you who have order semi-completes, how do you plan on configuring it as it relates to LED and circuit?

I plan on using a BadBoy 400 Q3, but if the MadMax doesn't
get to hot I might use that. I have some of each. I ordered
one complete and one semi-complete, so I'll try the complete
first to see what I think of the MM+Q3 and if I like it and
it doesn't get to hot I'll use MM+Q3 in both if not I might
use the BB 400 Q3 in one or both. I'm just not sure until
I try them out. I'm curious about what others are going to
use.

I plan on using the MM/Q3 combo coming with my 'Fly by turning the MM down to about 330-350mA. The LL123 I have (one of the 'prototypes' for the FireFly) has an R2H running at 350mA and it is just about perfect.

My backup is a very nicely and evenly colored BB400 of unknown provenance that I happen to have.

I have a MM+ head that I swapped out the LED with an R2H. I am going to use that unless it is too hot, then I will build a sandwich with a BB 400 and an R2H.
