Hey I have a surefire l2 lumamax (older model) and a few other flashlights that run off of 2xCR123A..

I am switching over to rechargeable Li-Ion (I hear AW protected batts are best and Pila IBC charger is best..)

I need to know what size batteries will fit into my light in the place of 2xCR123a.

I know 3xCR123a can be replaced directly (no modifications) with 2x17500.

What can I use instead of 2xCR123a? (18500? 146700? I don't understand what size is what)

thanks!

The AW 16340's are supposed to fit with the label removed. I know for a fact that the AW IMR 16340's will fit. They are the smalled RCR's I know of.

can I use the 17500s I'm buying for my invictus flashlight?

and also if i use 14670s will there be a lot of extra space around the batteries inside the light? ...I feel that i payed lots for this light and i can afford the right battery setup. I don't want a bunch of wasted space in the light body, i'd rather the batteries occupy the whole battery compartment with no wasted space, room to jump around etc etc...

thanks!

Indeed. They fit and work perfectly in the LX2.

edit: oops, you guys are talking about the L2, not LX2. I misread, sorry about that.

It's been a while since I had one, and I can't remember. I just remember that my IMR's fit. They fit everything a primary will fit.

if the 17500 from your invictus will slide in the L2 tube(this is just to check if 17mm wide cell will fit), then a 17670 should work(recommended, I think... at least for good runtime).

17500
17= diameter (in mm)
50= length (in mm)
0= indicates cylindrical(round) cell
