Hi all.

I have an old Vistalight VL530 type, 2 light set with the 6v two pin sealed halogen bulbs, I currently have 5w, 10w, 15w heads.

I am wondering if there are any brighter or better LED type drop in replacements suitable for this light system? Indeed is it possible to upgrade this cheaply in any manner for more light output or longer run times?

Cheers,
Steve

The problem is heat disapation - halogen bulbs produce much more heat, but it goes out the front. The heat produced by the LED needs to be disapated via the housing. This is why any new LED light has lots of cooling fins.

Any upgrade will be a small if any improvement in light output and you are still left with the old batteries.

I would recommend going to a complete new system, either a magicshine - you can get the complete setup for $45 or building the new light yourself
