This may sound like a really stupid noob question, but when shopping around for a drop-in to go into a G3 host running 3*cr123a, is it better to to pick one with an upper end rating of 12v or is an upper end of 9v just fine?
The 12V gives leeway to those users who run Li-ion.
Although ... 3x16340 would exceed 12V.
From what I've been told get the voltage range in which battery configuration you will be running.
Or perhaps, and this is just my musings, get 2x17500 Li-ion cells and run those in place of your 3xCR123a with a 9V drop-in.
