Which is better overall? I've read reviews on both with pictures and videos(hard for me to appreciate) of beamshots, but I haven't seen any (ANSI or any) specs on throw for S12. Does the X10 put out enough spill to make up for additional throw (if any) over the S12?
The X10 is rated at Ansi 640lumens (measured at 770 OTF), the S12 Claims 800 lumens, but it drops to 595 with the thermal control; so is there enough difference in light output to warrant the lower run-time of the S12?
Any opinions or thoughts are appreciated.

I know one person on this board who has had both and prefers the X10. I have an X10 and I can tell you that it still puts out plenty of spill despite it's better throw.

If you simply must have a floody light with a little more output then go with the X12. If you like throw, no doubt, get the X10. The X10 will run off and leave the X12 in the throw department.

I have the x10 and like it. It had a real good throw and plenty of spill. I am also debating whether to get a s12 or a olight sr51. You should be happy with the x10.

If I could only keep one. Then I would definitely keep the X10. It has plenty of spill and a large hotspot. I can also use a 18650 with a plastic tube. It works fine with AW 18650 3100 mAh.

Colonel Sanders,
I first heard of this light from a comment you made on another thread.

Ncvarmint,
Why are you considering getting an S2?

BLUE LED,

That's a great point, to be able to run it on 18650's in a pinch.

I want a brighter light with a more flood like beam. But i would like to see one in person first. The x10 is a great light, but works better for me to spotlight.
