Re: Sunwayman C10R: Torpedo (Pictures!)

I recently got my first Sunwayman, a V10R, which I am rather impressed with. This looks very interesting. Is the battery indicator 180° from the side switch?

Looks that way to me, and that's how the T20CS was set up. The more I look at it, even the style of the head looks like the T20CS, which is great, because I love the way the T20CS looks. Sunwayman continues to release some of the most stylish lights.

You're right about the T20CS similarities. I just took a look at it on their site and the heat sink/switch/battery indicator is remarkably similar. Shelm, it does appear to be a stubby little rascal compared to the others now that you mention it.

The reflector looks smooth but does not appear to be taking advantage of the wider than usual head.
No screw-on clip or even room for a pocket clip of any kind.

Side switch and battery indicator look like those on the T20CS.
I didn´t realise it´s a battery indicator.

Like I said in the other thread I assume it´s going to take 18350 rechargeables judging from the diameter of it´s body. According to the packaging it has a XM-L U2 LED and provides 1 lumen on low, 190 lumens on high with a primary and up to 500 lumens with a rechargeable. Packaging also says fully variable magnetic control but it might very well be just a prototype that´s up for review over there.

So how is the switch going to work? Pressing to access a few different output modes or to ramp from 1 to 500 lumens?

The reflector doesn't look optimal.

Here's a pic of the reflector, which doesn't look 'optimal'.

You do realize that the camera was not dead center in front of the emitter right?

Yes, the side switch in excessively close proximity to the reflector, can compromise the diameter of the reflector; this is very common in Zebralights.

Looks shallow too, to maximise flood, just like the Jetbeam RRT-01.

Also, cute light, but does it have infinitely variable brightness control, and we must remove the key ring attachment to tail stand?

Re: Sunwayman C10R: Torpedo (Pictures!)

Is anyone else seeing the similarity to the Nitecore TM11 in that first picture?

Another must have EDC for me!

I like that it has the side switch instead of the tailcap switch.

Gordo, lightfooted, could you edit your posts to remove the pictures for now? Thanks.

Re: Sunwayman C10R: Torpedo (Pictures!)

-Low: 1 lumen for 35 hrs
-High: 190 lumens for 1.5 hrs (500 with a 16340)

The pic of the C10R sitting in a box, is the Sunwayman V11R box.
They put white tape over some of the incorrect parts to indicate relevant C10R info like 210 lumens.
It clearly does not have a variable magnetic ring and may not go down to 1 lumen.

Wait...Torpedo? isn't that the name of the guy_with_no_names 500 lumen AAA light?

Sunwayman have stolen TGWNN Torpedo name.
