I'm working on a 1D Mag mod..installing a 1W Luxeon. What would you recommend I do for the optics? I'm looking to make this more of a walking, flood type light.

well, generaly i would recommend the standard mag reflector, but it doesn't produce much of a flood beam...
i think spraying the mag reflector with white paint *may* produce a nice flood, but there are other options also.

Using no reflector or optic at all will give you a nice flood beam.

I bet Roth's suggestion would work pretty well.

I was hoping that would work..I will try the "sputtering" technique on the factory reflector.
