I want to make a LED buld from my burnt out incadecant bulb. Does anybody know how?

I'm sure I just need to solder a LED leads to the right areas, but what about lowering the wattage? What kind of resistors do I need for a simple 5mm LED or a cluster of LEDs? Is there some sort of formula or calculator for this? Thanks.

Huh? Why did this thread get moved from Fixed Lighting to the LED forum, and why did the thread title get changed to

CPF went down a few days ago and some posts and threads were inadvertantly changed, or deleted. Working on it.
