Hello. How does one remove the light from a JetBeam PA40? The batteries I was using leaked and have left corrosion products/salt residue in the top portion of the flashlight that I would like to clean out. Loosening the two screws did nothing for me. Do the dimples/holes in the pink (heat sink?) serve a purpose? At a minimum, I want to clean out the threads so it doesn't seize again (had to stick it in a vice and use a strap wrench to open it).
The light still works fine. If I am able to clean the threads, is there a problem with leaving the remaining residue there?
What causes batteries to leak? My flashlight has never seen large temperature swings and is usually kept around 60-70 F.
Thanks!
