Idea origin: I am waiting for the HA PR McLux heads to be available again. I have one already with a DB500 and R2K in it. I just got my LUXIII's yesterday TWAK emitter and TVIK star. Frustrated because i have nothing to even test them with.

Now for the what if: Someone with soldering skills far, far, beyond my own could solder two tiny "brackets" on a PM emitter board or a sandwich module or whatever. I am thinking two inverted "L" metal pieces. This would allow a twist in/twist out no-solder removal/replacement of the emitter. This would allow easy upgrades, color changes whatever. I hope i am sucessfully conveying my idea. Obviously you could use only the non-bonding AA but that is what i use anyway.

Has anyone done something like this?

Is there any reason it would not work?

Please steal this idea just send me a few LOL

I think the leads on the Luxeons would snap off fairly soon too. I think lumileds need to address this issue *if* they want to encourage more luxeon based flashlights.
