So, most of the day I've spent looking over 1xAAA lights such as the itp, maratac and olight so I could throw a 10440 in for short uses. Then I realized I carry a nice 2xAAA I could use. I understand the risk of using a li-ion battery in a flashlight that was meant for regular alkaline batteries. But this light never sees use that lasts longer than thirty seconds.
Would it be possible to use a protected 10440 and a dummy AAA shortened to compensate for the extra length of the protected?
