What do you think about this p60 drop in?

This drop in won't run off 2xAA cells. 3V is the absolute minimum this drop in will run off and it sure as hell won't get 1300 lumen.

So basically no...this is not a good drop in to use in your circumstance. I'd look at some of the Malkoff p60 dropins for that sort of battery level.

Thanks so much for the reply! Unfortunately I looked and I didn't see any malkoff p60 drop ins that can use 3v. Did I post this question to the right area, or do people not use 3v lights very much anymore?

For the cheapest route, get the Solarforce LC-XPG 0.8~4.2V or one of the Dereelight 0.9~4.2V drop-ins.

Or, if you don't mind the price and want to go with something that can take a beating, Malkoff M31 will do the trick.

They're guaranteed to work with 2xAA.

Also, you aren't going to find any drop-ins that can produce 1,000 lumens from 3V source.
