EC2 versus EC25 Nitecore, question

How is the newer EC25 so much more powerful, using the same power supply? Also, I must be missing something, but I couldn't figure out the UI from the website-- the EC2 seem pretty straightforward. Does the EC25 work in a similar fashion?

Anyone have experience with these models?

Different CREE LED models.
EC25 uses an XM-L, EC2 uses XP-G R5. If you look up the specs you can see that XM-L
is able to drive much higher Output.

EC25 offers a more allround type of light, XP-G IMHO is more throwy.

I have the EC1 and i love it, even with the red light temperature/drain problem. It's a nice little thrower.
