I'm looking for some ideas on a mod I'm working on.
I got a KL2 head from a fellow flashoholic. He sent it to me to see what I could do with it. I did a search here for KL2 mods and didn't come up with much, so this is where I am now.
I took it a part and I believe that it is very mod friendly. It even has what can be used as a nice heatsink. I took the spacer used to space the leds and milled it out to the diameter of an M6 reflector. I dropped in a DownBoy1000 and put a TWAK on top of it. I had the light together and it was nice, but I'm just thinking that a light that big should really be capable of more light, so I replaced the 3W with a 5W LED and it puts out light like it should with a PR. I'm just not sure of how long the 5W will last at that bias.
My question is this, does anyone have any ideas of where I might get a bigger reflector that will work for this application. I do have an M3, but really don't want to chop that up for this mod. Anyone have an M3 reflector that they might want to part with.
