I hear people using 5+ amp drivers on their MTG2 leds but I've looked all over and cant find one that is 17mm. Any ideas?

Look for Qlite zener mode.
Uses AMC7135 drivers (17mm) & runs up to 2 Li-ion cells.
Stack chips up till ur desired current rating.

how do you stack chips? Is there no driver I can just solder in?

I don't want to look like km hunting these threads down and doing nothing but trashing the idea - but 7135s and MTG2s is not a good long term solution.
Its like running a normal car on avgas...it'll go like crazy to start with but give it a few uses and the car will destroy itself.
I can't provide a suitable solution though.
