Hello,

I'm new to the forum and "custom" flashlights.

I'm looking to build a new weapon light and was wondering if this configuration would be OK?

Solarforce L2P host + Redilast 18650 (Protected 2600 mAh) + Solar Force LC-XPG Cree R5 + Surefire z49 tailcap.

Will the Surefire z49 be OK in this configuration?

The Z49 will work fine. SolarForce uses the same 7/8-20TPI threads. But I have to ask you. Why would you use an expensive TC like the Z49 on a less expensive light? A Z59 would do just fine if your stuck on a Surefire TC but there are several SolarForce TC more than able to handle the current your going to see in the application you describe. BTW welcome to CPF.

Currently I have a Surefire G2 w/ P60L head + z49 TC on my AR. I'm going to move the G2 w/ P60L + Surefire XM TC onto my Rem. 870. I figured the z49 TC would be higher quality than the Solar Force TC.

I just wanna be sure the z49 won't short-circuit (don't know the correct terminology).

That tailcap should be fine for those amps, along with the stock 3 amp solarforce TC. That drop in and 1 18650 does not pull much current.

Seriously, I have a L2p and run a much hotter Vihn drop in with the stock tc and 1 18650 and alls fine. Ive even run a MTG2 in that light with 2 imr 18350's with no issue.
