I was wondering what batteries you guys would recommend for a light like the Preon Penlight which is capable of high discharge rates (5 lumens, 50 lumens, 180 lumens). I was thinking the Energizer Ultimate Lithiums?

AAA Eneloops... they outperform L92s not to mention are virtually free (rechargeable) - check out Selfbuilt's output/runtime graphs for this light on both cells. Did you nab the light on the awesome sale?

No I picked up two of them for $50 on Amazon, one for my father for Christmas and one for me as an engineer. What's the sale?

Can you please link me to the review? All I found was this, Are Eneloops Lithium too? I am not looking for rechargeables just to clarify
