Has anyone here had experience with Mecarmy?
Some of their lights look REALLY nice.
How does the PT16 compare with the Olight S1R?

The only MecArmy item I have used is an SGN3.

Of the various stock production choices in that form factor (compact flat rechargeable keyring torches) , it offers nice features (including multi-spectrum output) , has been reliable, and held up reasonably well to moderate duty use.

How does the PT16 compare with the Olight S1R?

I have had both the PT16 and the Olight S1R, but gave the S1R to one of my adult children, so I can not show you a side by side..

PT16 is shorter and fatter, and accepts 18350 in addition to 16340, but does not work with CR123. The PT-16 has a built in USB charger, that works with any 16340 or 18350

S1R works with 16340 and CR123. It only charges the special 16340 high Drain IMR that comes with it, but it works with other 16340, assuming you have an external charger.

here is a thread about the PT16

and another one about the PT18, whose head is the same, it just has a different body

and a review I recently posted of the S1R

The modes on the PT-16 do not include the 0.5 lumen low of the Olight, other than that the UI is similar, click on, click off, hold to advance modes, double click for turbo, tripple click for strobe.. A difference is the Olight remembers the last mode used and turns on in that mode next time (unless you use the shortcut to moonlight, press and hold from off), while the PT series has no memory and always starts on the low mode when clicked on, from off.

another difference, PT series had no pocket clip until rececently, but the latest model does include a pocket clip.

I find the PT completely reliable, same for the Olight, and neither has PWM.
On the Olight, my camera can see the constant current ripple on Moon and Low, in actual use my eyes do not notice.

they compare very well, I cant say one is better than the other, depends on your preferences
sometimes the best answer is to get both :)

now to add to your confusion, what I actually carry is neither, Im a fan of the Olight S1 Mini HiCRI and the Olight S Mini..

depends on your preferences regarding weight, size, CRI, brightness, etc

for me, since I like to clip a light to my baseball cap, the S1 Mini and S Mini are winners, the other two dont clip to a hat

Personally I dislike the tail of the PT16 and ground mine down.. and I like small and lightweight, so the S1 Mini is a winner for my criteria. I also really like the USB rechargeable battery included in the S1 Mini.. it can be charged outside the light, so I can keep using the light, with a spare battery, instead of waiting for the PT16 or S1R to finish acting like a charger..

here is a review of my S Mini Rose Gold and S1 Mini High CRI

size comparison

the one in the middle is the "Light"est :) and comes in both Cool White, and High CRI options
