Got some S017XA reflectors from Wanye at EL and thought I'd try one in my CNC-Dan light. The Dan light head is machined to the shape of the optic and the S017XA has a support flange that is the height of the reflector. The relector itself is the same size as the optic.
Used a $6.00 tube cutter from Home Depot to remove most of the flange.
Then using a razor blade I trimmed the remaining flange down so now the optic and reflector are the same dimensions.
Drops in the Dan light perfectly. Add the o-ring, lens and bezel and you're good to go.
Ah, the obligatory beamshot.
I'm very happy with this little reflector. Smooth hotspot, smooth sidespill and no artifact. It's a beauty! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
