Hi,
We all know not to look straight at an LED, esp. a strong one such as those used in a Petzl Zipka. I never had issue with this for I have not had the need to look into my flashlight while it is on.
However, I use the Zipka for reading ebooks on my Palm in dim places (where the inverted backlight doesn't work). For any of those that have tried this, the following is obvious: the best angle for reading a PDA's screen is the one that perfectly mirrors the LED's of a headlamp.!
I have tried diffusing the light with Scotch tape, but it doesn't work all that well. I was hoping someone could suggest how to construct a real diffuser like the beam filters on Surefire flashlights.
