Semiconductor companies alway try to produce better
products. Some are better (whiter or brighter, or faster
Pentiums) and some are average, and some are worse.
So companies test the parts and sort them into bins.
They price the better bins higher and the worse bins lower.
Ideally they price the different bins so that all product
gets sold and they maximize their profit.
X-bins are the best they can make but everything has to
go right in the processing to get some. So they are rare.
As time goes on, most semi manufacturers get better at
whatever they are producing so X's may become more common,
and then we'll all lust after Y-bin parts /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
