Longbow Micra Bezel Removal Difficulties

I'm having a great deal of trouble removing the main bezel of my longbow micra. I want to install a new light engine. I can remove the lens cap section and get at the lens and optics, but not the section below it. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated. Alternatley... FS: 1 LB Micra with major damage from sledgehammer.

Yes, it's quite easy, but it is screwed on very tight. What I used was two pieces of rubber on each end and then gently clamped on some vice grips. You can also use something like this:

Just use rubber dishwashing gloves.

Yup. that's what I did. It helps to take the tailcap off first too.
