What light are you planning on putting that in?
You will wan a nice heatsink, to keep the led cool, if you do that, it will be fine.
Just remember you battery configuration needs to be higher than the VF of the led when using a Downboy. So, above about 3.5V in this case.

I refitted a Downboy 1k into a LED Lenser 3-watter and it's worked fine ever since. The head does get rather warm to the touch after several minutes of operation, but that was expected slash planned-for.

Been there, done that with a georges80 and Luxeon3 in 6D mag.

I think Third Shift is talking about the georges80 CC5W downconverter. I've used them myself and they work goooodly
