I find myself mentioning this light more and more. The Nuwai ALX-352L is very bright for a Lux-V (may even be overdriven a little) and because of the larger reflector, it has throw. It appears to match my PR-T/X4T but the Nuwai throws further. $75 at goldengadgets.com

The Proton won't even approach Space Needle brightness. Unfortunately, the brightest thrower under $100 is a Space Needle.

The beam has an extremely bright hotspot with adaquate sidespill. You will only see a donut hole 2 inches from the wall as with all Lux-V lights.
