9 of my favourite lights in comparison, all lights that required charging are fully charged, and the rest have new 123's /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Distance is 60', white markers at spaced at 5'. All lights are unmodified. Enjoy!

Wow, very cool comparison Piper.
That Thor is a throw monster, very impressed with that L4 as well.

The Thor is a worker, no doubt. Using it in comapison like I did is like test driving a Ferrari in a driveway, simple not enough room to let it stretch it's legs.
The L4 is a wonderlight, I had 9 lights at my feet in the wet grass, each time I needed something I reached for the L4 without thinking, it is just one of those lights.

A WOW for the Thor! What battery do you use for the QIII? A rechargeable unprotected 4.2v?

Protected r123.. Nice little light, i talked my brother-in-law into one last night. He is one of those who say "why do you carry a flashlight?" then 2 minutes later asks to borrow it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nice.../ubbthreads/images/graemlins/clap.gif Thanks for comparison pis.

Although I have an E1L I cant believe it has such throw. I use SF123's, but am thinking of converting to R123

Thanks again for pics.

You really should, that way you can get all the power you can from that small size.

I understand the rechargeable batts put out more voltage than disposable batts, but feel I will spend quite a bit of time wondering : did i charge batts, which type of r123's are inside protected or not, will the light damage batts if unprotected, cant drain batts completely.

Im sure it's a simple formula to figure it out, and I am probably getting tunnel vison on r123s....

ANYWAYS,

Pydpiper,

I appreciate the pics you have posted here as I know it takes a while to get everything right.
Would it be possible to see E1L comparison pic using disposable 123 batt. Is it enough (r123 batt vs disp123) to where the human mind can see a difference; maybe someone could post SAME E1L(or similar) using r123 then change out SAME light using disp 123 battery.

I think this is still on topic, please forgive me if it is not.

Thanks
Jim

The Pelican M6 would be my pick if I had to choose one.
