New POP2E v2.38 Sammies,

In a nutshell the POP2E v2.38 has the following features.

UI-1 = user - high - set - r.strobe (default UI)
UI-2 = low - user - high - strobe
UI-3 = high - user - r.strobe
UI-4 = low - user - high - strobe - sos - throb
UI-5 = low - user - high - r.strobe - sos - throb - set

r.strobe is semi-random speed strobe
throb well I can describe as a beacon? or if you have a glo-toob then you know what I mean

EDIT: We are preparing a flowchart on how to change the UI.

I'm halfway clicking to move to the next setting and also to set.
A lot better and faster but most importantly less effort. With
basically two settings user, and high, it's super simple and practical.

Do these use 1 LDO or 2? Burst mode? What is max target current?

These are single TPS73601 LDO's

I can custom build you one with dual LDO if you like, TPS73601 as primary and tps73101 as secondary with TWOH. IIRC I measured 550mA output a while back with a TYAH. I have to dig up the graphs but do a search on POP2 you might find the answer there.

I built a "burst mode" version for my Q3 wherein the secondary LDO was replaced by a p-fet for direct drive. had to do some pcb mod to achieve this, along with custom software DJ created, The lux started degregating after only 10 hours of use and gets hot quickly and that's on a Q3 with ViRen''s copper heat sink , sammie version cannot handle the heat fast enough I think, On the Q3 I can replace the lux easily not so on the sammie. As far as brightness compared a regular POP2 TWOH with tps73601, I can't tell.
