I was just surfing around looking for an explanation as to the different definitions for light intensity(lumens, millicandelas, candle power) and I found this forum. I'd love it if someone would explain that to me or tell me where to find a good easy to understand explanation of it, because I'm still pretty much clueless.
Anyway, the reason I made this post... I've long been a closet flashlight enthusiast, and I never knew flashlights go beyond the storebought variety. Many people I work with are constantly having little competitions of whose flashlight is brighter. I think maybe everyone I work with is under the impression that Surefire and their competitors are the end all and be all of small bright flashlights. I'm planning on purchasing a custom flashlight from someone on this site now. I'll be sure to tell my friends where I got it too. In case you're wondering, I work in Aircraft Maintenance(at night mostly) where a small bright flashlight comes in real handy. Although to be honest part of my flashaholism stems from my handgun hobby.
Kudos to the people who created and support this site.
