Anyone know why the UK2L appears to have less output (16.5 overall and 51.48 throw, according to Quickbeam's site) than the UK4AA (20 overall and 55.6 throw)? They both use the same 2.1w lamp assembly.

Just wonderin'...

Experimental error, slight variation from one bulb to another, etc. They should be about the same. If anything, good 123A's should have a little less voltage sag than AA alkalines.

Thanks, Paul.

That was my (unsure!) line of thought as well (but I don't have the knowlege that many of you CPF'rs have).

Off topic: I have been getting back into incans, and using the PT Rage lately--quite a bit. This a a serious little butt-kicker for $10.
As long as the lamp assemblies hold up, I think it is a great bang-for-the-buck light. It is small enough to pocket as well. $1 worth of bats/hr runtime is a plus.

However...a Surefire E2E is calling my name...

Take care,
Bob
