Re: FS: My New 'Pocket Mini' Lasers! - Blu-Ray or Red

I'd love to see some user beam shots. Great mod:thumbsup:

How about a grainy video of it lighting a match?

It can light matches 15 feet away, it just needs to be focused right. It can probably do it even further away too, but 15 feet is the farthest I've tried.

J_Oei, yours is ready to ship tomorrow! (Tuesday)

Set at 101mW's for better longevity per your request. Running at 116mA's current. And another longer wavelength, visually brighter diode! I think I can say that, (at least in my experience), these 803T diodes for the most part, seem to be visually brighter at the lower power settings...

Please let me know when you get it! :)

hi jay got mine today and love it, it lights matches at 20 feet when properly focused and will score wood and plastic at close range, it is amazing. thank you so much for an awesome blue laser :twothumbs

Re: FS: My New 'Pocket Mini' Lasers! - Blu-Ray or Red

:thanks:Ned!

I have three personal 803T builds. One is at 150mW's, one is at 117mW's and another is at 107mW's.

Now you would think that the 150mW build would be brighter, and it is on the meter, and for burning...

But both of the lesser powered ones are visually brighter than the 150mW one!:)

Maybe it's just a coincidence, but all of the 'longer wavelength' ones that I have found so far, were builds that were at lower powers. Between 100mW's and 115mW's.

I also have a 6X blu-ray build that is at 209mW's. Believe it or not, I can barely tell that it is brighter in the dark, than my 117mW 803T build!

I don't have any special equipment for testing this, and it is only noticeable with two lasers side by side in the dark. What I do, is focus both the same, and then shine them at the ceiling, about 30' away, and can tell by the amount of reflection that comes off of the ceiling and hits the wall...

hamheart, glad you like it!:twothumbs Thanks for posting...
Jay

Ok Ferry, I'll make a note that you are hoping for a longer wavelength one. I have been getting a lot like this lately!

I really think that it is with the lower power settings. Do you want me to set it to 100mW's? Or go for 115mW's?

Hi Jay
The Mini Blu-Ray arrived safe today, and I must say it is an awesome piece of work. Top quality build, very bright and fun. My sons are very jealous. "Dad always gets the coolest toys" hee hee hee... I love hearing that. Also the first friend I showed it to wants to buy one. I told him how to find you here on CPF.
This Pocket Mini Laser from JayRob is totally AWESOMEly COOL!!
Thanks very much Jay for creating this masterpiece AND letting it go.
SOOOO bright!

Cheers,
Ned

It is a high efficiency diode set at 110mW's per your request. It is running at 116mA's. Not a super long wavelength, but longer than most. Very nice!

You will like it. :) Please let me know when you get it...
