Question on the bezel assembly. My light has one O ring and what appears to be a flat rubber gasket inside the stainless steel bezel towards the top. The O ring sits in the groove on the reflector and compresses between the reflector and the lens and the gasket compresses between the lens and the bezel, right? Or am i suppose to have two O rings?

Both my rotary AND 170 clicky have 2 o-rings. One over, and one under the lens.

OK. Do they also have the gasket I described in addition to the O rings? It's tight to the inside of the bezel and I noticed it by poking around with tweezers.

BTW, if you don't recall that's fine, probably e-mail HDS and see what they say. Thanks.

mrlysle was correct. Here is a pic I had taken of my Twisty apart for someone else that was having problems putting theirs back together. It does show two o-rings in addition to the flat gasket pressed into the bezel. Hope that is helpful.

Which of the o-rings has to be replaced to use a GITD o-ring? (i guess the inner one, which is closest to the reflector)
Which diameter have the o-rings?

I don't know the diameter off hand, but I may have one at home I can look at. Probably you would get the effect if either one was GITD, but the only issue is that these o-rings in the Clicky are much skinnier than most o-rings, so if you just throw a big thick GITD one in there, the bezel is not going to seat flush against the head of the light (If that is an issue for you. The only time I did it was when I had a clip installed under the bezel which created "slack" anyways, so it was perfect.)

Just bought a custom Rotary 200 - how long for delivery?

Hi All,

Just bought my second HDS (still lovin' my custom 170 tactical but I want rotary control too), a custom EDC 200 Rotary with flush button and black bezel .

To those that have recently taken delivery, what's Henry's turnaround time right now?

I'm guessing it will be a couple of months before I see mine since I know he's had supplier issues. I can wait since I have an HDS to keep me company, just looking for what to expect.

Thanks,
ThumperACC

[Changed title back] Since it is a custom order I think it would be best to send Henry an email (depends on what parts he has available, current backlog, etc.).

I've got a rotary with a flush button,i've got to say it's well worth the wait in my opinion
luckily mine was in stock in the UK as only a handfull of people actualy know about
HDS lights here,so hopefully Henry gets sorted ASAP for you & the others on his backlog.
Otherwise you could order one from Ledfire torches in the UK & get one within 10 to 14 days

Re: Just bought a custom Rotary 200 - how long for delivery?

Speaking of ledfiretorches.
Is the 10 14 days the normal delivery time?

I ask because I ordered a silver Rotary at ledfiretorches. It was shipped on 3rd November but I don't have it till now.
On the royal mail tracking website I can only see it arrived in Germany. That was on 4th November.
I'm just not familiar with orders from UK to Germany.

It really depends. To Europe it will probably a shorter time. I believe the pervious post was aimed at our friends over the pond.

Just took delivery of my friends Rotary and really like the new control and tint as well. I'll definitely be up for hCRI version of this, but even though I prefer a little warmer tint, this is a very, very nice white light coming out. Glad to see the shift to XP-G from P4 too.

Hi Kaichu,

Could you please tell me how long from order to delivery?

Thanks,

Yes it is, thanks. I already contacted HDS and they're sending me another O-ring. Oddly enough I recall disassembling/reassembling the bezel once and having an extra O-ring. At the time I couldn't figure out where it came from. Now I know.

Extra parts...never a good sign. :hahaha:

I know. To make it worse I have no clue where I put the O-ring. I saved it because I knew it had to go somewhere but now that I know I can't find it. Figures.

I got my EDC-R1S-200 right now via registered mail.

I was surprised how compact it is. Although I read the measurements I thought it would be bulkier.
And the light at 200 lumen is brighter than my china MTE SSC-P7C with MCE emitter that is rated for up to 700 lumens.

Which modes are programmed as deafult?
I can do a click and get to rotary mode. Double click when on goes to a low mode, double click again goes back to rotary.
But how do I do the press-hold-release? I want to go to preset A from off. (which is, click, PHR)

EDIT: OK, I got it. I made little pause between the two clicks. You rather have to do a double click and hold the last of the two clicks.

Hi Nutcracker,

Default modes?
From off: Click - Rotary setting (preset B), Click/PHR - Preset A which is max output of 200
From on: Click - Off, Click/PHR - Preset A, PH - momentary Preset A, Double click - toggle between Rotary (preset B) and preset c 12/15 lumens, triple click - strobe.

A note on double click and presets B and C. Double click toggles back and forth if you are currently in B or C. However if you are in A or D, double click returns you to whichever (B or C) you were in last time you left (B or C).

THx, I understand.
The "tricky" part was to figure out how press-hold-release works. I now programmed button lock and momentary.
But I have a question about the locator flash: Do you know how long a battery lasts if locator flash is enabled? Does it drain a lot of power?

Just got my first HDS which I'm very happy with. I thought at first that it will be large and bulky but as I compared it to my SC50w, its not that big at all. I think I just got a new EDC light :naughty:

When I was only skimming, I was overwhelmed with the loooooooooong user guide. When I started reading thoroughly, I can't believe that is was very easy to follow. I completed my preferred settings in less than 5 minutes

There is a thread floating around here (I can't remember the name or author) that was probably the longest runtime thread ever. He set his Clicky aside in the basement with locator flash turned on and it went for something stupid like 3 years.

One thing to note about locator flash: I don't know if it's fixed on the new model you have, but on both my SSC High CRI and GDP 170 lights, if the flash happens as you're entering commands, it causes problems. You'll be trying to click and hold to put it into High and the flash will happen and the light won't do it.

Like I said though, might be fixed in the new models.
