The WhateverFire cells are pretty much all the same. Word has it they're built in the same factory and just have different logos slapped on them.

Neither. They are lousy cells - read this thread about them.
In the long run you will be better off getting AW's protected Li-Ion cells, which are far better quality and will not let you down.

Trustfire cells are probably better than Ultrafires. So far, I have good experiences with sku.5790 and sku.3435 (14500). Overdischarge protection works on all of them and I get the same or slightly longer runtimes with Trustfire cells than with AW's.

I've been using the Ultrafire cells in my Dereelight with very good results: if I used my lights for a serious purpose- I'd get the AW batteries.
