I recently purchased my first novatac from the market place and immediately wanted to add some tritium vials some how. A quick stop to 4sevens.com revealed PEU's custom bezel for the novatac/hds and the arc 4+. 2 days later I had a nice new bezel for my novatac sitting in the mail box. After installing it I noticed quite a gap between the bottom of the bezel and the top of the flashlight body. I did a little research here on CPF and it seems like alot of people are filling the gap with a glow o-ring. After some thought I decided to take some length off the threads. Granted this is not brain surgery but I thought some one might find it handy. Below are some pictures of how I solved the gap problem.
edit: I forgot to mention. The stock bezel was on very tight with lock tite. My solution was to heat up 1/2" of water in a bowl in the microwave and then stick the bezel down in it for a long soak. After a few minutes I was able to remove it by using a rubber pad on the counter while pressing down and turning.
Da Gap
Stock bezel vs. PEU trit bezel
I sat my file on a flat surface and held the bezel firm with a little down pressure to start removing metal from the bottom of the bezel thus reducing the length of the threads. After working the file for a few minutes I did a test fit.
Almost there.
After a few more minutes of filing and trial fitting's its finally at the height I was shooting for.
Final install with some red trits. :twothumbs
Thanks to CPF I can't just leave a great light alone.
