It was after I had disassembled it and I had not changed the O rings for better ones.
I have not seen any W200's with the O ring that goes around the lens.
But then it always stays in the head when I take the lens out. Maybe yours did too.

It's still odd. I just reused the same o-ring as well since I didn't have any replacements. I hope it doesn't flood. I was careful not to puncture the large o-ring and removing the other o-rings shouldn't cause them to flood.

If you punctured the large o-ring I guess that shows that it is doing some sealing and it's not just there to keep the glass in.

Hello to all.

I received my W200 but i´m experiencing some problems, I´m using 3 GP rechargeable 2700 nimh.
The problem is that the light does not keep on after a period of time (it varies can be on for 5 minutes and go out can be 15 minutes or just 2 or 3 minutes and gone) it disconnect, its seems some kind of faulty contact, do not know where, wonder if anyone have felt the same problem and how to solve it.
The light is very bright and good (when on).
Also now I heard a noise on the head of the flashlight and i saw that the glass that covers the led have fell out, what shell I do ?

Thank you all for your reply s / help.

Thank from Lisbon / Portugal

obviously the light is not working properly. You can ask dealextreme to replace the light. I've read that they do this without problems, although I haven't tried it myself.

if the lens falls out of the head, that means that the o-ring that is holding the lens in place is probably too thin. chances are that it will flood when diving with it.

I also use 2700mAh NiMh batteries from GP, and never had an issue with it. works like a charm.
some of the light however do have some sort of washer behind the spring in the back of the light. This apparently solves the issue you're describing that the light goes out (others say it starts flickering).

Sorry for the highjack but can you remove the aluminum battery tube out of the w200? If so, how? I have tried pulling it and it will not come out.
Thanks

Sounds like yours is defective!

Some of the tubes come out with ease. But the newer w200s have a slightly smaller ID and the tube is a very tight fit. It will still come out with force.

if it is really stuck, it's probably the o-ring in the middle of the tube that is not in the right place. I had the same problem when modding my light. just pull harder

I have not explained myself correctly, what felt was the round head of the lead, not the lens from the flashlight.

Thank you for your reply

If you mean the aluminium part at the inside of the head on which te led is mounted, that should be kept in place by an o-ring. There should be a groove in that part where the o-ring should be. If it's not there, it's not problematic but you might loose the part or damage the LED.

try to get a replacement before trying to fix this yourself. if they don't want to replace it, just put an o-ring there.
if you screw the head on the battery holder, does it screw all the way down or is there still a milimeter or so between the head and the back. If you can screw it all the way down, there is most likely a bad contact between the tube around the batteries and the inner part of the head. This can be solved by putting a washer under the tube so it will sit a little higher and make contact before the head is screwed in all the way.

I Think I have managed the part of the bad contact a washer as you said have solved the problem (for now) concerning the glass of the led, i will post a photo so you can see what I mean.

Thank you once more for your help.

You have knocked the dome o the LED.
Dont bother try putting it back on since you will get asn air bubble in it.
Either leave it as is is replace the Led.

that depends on which led is currently in the lamp. most likely this is the same or a SSC P4 led. If your's has a P4, the link to the led wil give you more light, if it came with a Q5, this will be the same.

you can still dive with the led without the dome lens if you're not comfortable with soldering

I think it came with the SSC P4, and I ordered a new one as you said, I think will be no problem to solder the new led, will let you know when I get him.

Thank you once more.

They never used a SSC P4 but Cree XR-E P4 bin. If you are changing LED's you could try a XP-G R5 for a bit more light.

Do not want to abuse your good will, but can you send me a link of the correct one I have been at dealextreme, (http://www.dealextreme.com/search.dx/search. XP-G R5) but since I do not understand nothing of this "world" of mod flashlights your (again) help would be great.

Sorry to be such a pain in the neck .

but as told before this is a all new world for me make a Chinese flashlight to work hehehehe

Thank once more for your help.

I dont think DX sell a bare XP-G R5.
You could always buy a drop modual and remove the LED from it.

Do you run 18650s in your w200 mods? If so I assume, 2 with a driver or just one 18650 direct drive? Do you retain the battery tube by boring it out?
Thanks
