Thanks for the reply, F89! You helped me make up my mind.

No worries, can't go wrong.

To answer an above post and expand on this one, I'd take a Tana triple over an OR any day. I don't like the look of the programming on the new OR ones, it seems unnecessarily complicated and inconvenient. Also Tana's design is better with the optic closer to the lens, his variety of firmware and LEDs and so on.
Tana for the win.

looking at this dropin for a few empty hosts. however, there seem to be (much) higher output modules with decent color temps from vinh and VOB, which I have. my overready triple nichia doesn't have enough output for my taste, even with 2 cells. any place for the TNT for me? thanks in advance!

Your going to be limited with the 219B to a guess of about 400lm each. Why not go for a nichia 219c triple, real nice 5000k as well....

Beautiful work tarik, very nice:)

I'm with ven, the 219 is about quality not quantity.
I really like the sound of 219C triple, that and the XPE2 would have to be my top two choices (providing I've already got a 219A/B).
You could even try XPL HI, either way get one with the H17F that can go direct drive and make sure you have a tail cap that can take the amps or get it with Tana's high amp switch included.

What most new guys are not realizing is that all of us are using same/similar components - LEDs (can differ slightly in binning, depending on our sources), drivers are about the same (linear or FET, single cell or zener modded, buck, boost - firmware is what differentiate the UI) and outputs with the similar components are about the same...

There are no wizardry in modding but only a difference if modder is always after max possible output no matter possible downsides or modder is more concerned about "optimal" setup (efficiency, usability of max output, tint, beam shape, etc)...

XPL HI will give you the best output for sure with any driver and tints are on pair with 219C (talking about 3V LEDs)...

One thing... if you're after "lumens on paper" then be prepared to be amazed what some other less promising setups can put out in side-by-side comparison... :)

I have Vinhs 219c quad iirc In the E14vn and I really like the color. OR triple nichia is quite beautiful I'm EDCing it today in fact.

Thanks guys, tana for the replies. Just wanted a better idea of what distinguishes the tnt dropin is all. I have a few empty hosts to fill!

I dont think you can go wrong with any of them, be it oveready, vinh,TNT tbh, the nichia 219B should be looked at more for the colour rendition over shear output. So EDC uses for me it works out perfect or work uses where i dont need crazy outputs.

I would certainly try a tana p60 liteboy, the workmanship is perfection..........

As said and if you have a 219C already, look at the xpl HI in 4000-5000k flavours..........i love the 5000k xpl HI, real nice!

So much fun to be mess with Legos.
I'm waiting for 2 more Cryos illumination M2 bezels raw aluminum to come in then I'm talking my 3 raw cryos tail stands and M2 bezels down to be anodized . Not sure of colors yet because of friend of mine owns a large anodizing business and I'll just pick out the colors he's using at the time because he does them for free for me so no reason to be picky.

Got my Tana TripLED drop-in a few days back and squeezed it in one of my C series hosts. Fit, finish, and performance are fantastic. I opted for a 4.5 driver with Tana3 firmware and XPL HI (neutral). Tana's communication throughout the whole process was outstanding.

Compared to my TorchLAB V5 Triple R33 XPL while using one IMR 18650, I find Tana's TripLED a bit brighter, with noticeably more throw. Oveready's drop-in may be a tad floodier, though. Perhaps this is to be expected from their respective LED combinations. At any rate, both great products, no doubt, and just goes to show how good this drop-ins from Tana really are.
