    No love from Magic Shine

I have written up an instruction manual of sorts for the MJ808 bike light. You can find it on my website: http://www.magiclight.co.za/userguide I hope it helps.

Video tour of the Magicshine bike light

I have created a video walkthrough of the Magicshine bike light. For anyone who hasn't yet bought one and you are wondering what it's like, or whether to take the plunge this should give you a fairly good idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sn9x0QBBp44

    fishing light help please

The Magicshine MJ808 may be just what you need. Its actually a bike light, but the manufacturers have recently developed a headband mount as an extra. This light is very bright, and you can get several hours out of a single charge if you don't run it on the highest setting all the time.

Non-destructive flashlight mod for external battery

I wanted to be able to connect an external battery pack to my MTE flashlight for longer runtimes & a lighter package on my helmet. I didn't like the idea of making irreversible changes like drilling a hole into the body. This is my solution. Its not quite a finished work yet, but it is useable...

Best P7 flashlight for bar use?

Thanks, that post is what gave me the idea, but I was reluctant to make any irreversible modifications. I only got my light last week and didn't have the heart to go and hack a perfectly good flashlight. So last night I spent a few hours racking my brains to come up with a non-destructive...

TK40 mounted to bars or other flashlights (pics please)

My MTE P7-C gives me just over an hour of runtime on high. It stays pretty constant the whole time, only notice fading after an hour. It works great for handlebar mounting or helmet mounting. I did a cool mod last night to accommodate an external battery for longer runtimes and less weight on...

Best P7 flashlight for bar use?

I have just received my P7 DX bike light and I am impressed. It is bright and has a great beam pattern - slightly floody which is good for a handlebar mounted light. Comes with a 4 x 18650 battery pack for 3 hours runtime on max. Has a sturdy O-ring type handlebar mount. I also got a MTE P7-C...

*High* mode on my 2 mode MTE P7 not working

OK So I resoldered the connections on the star, even though they looked OK to start with. It solved my problem. My MTE P7 now switches between High>Low>Off>On perfectly

*High* mode on my 2 mode MTE P7 not working

I have almost exactly the same problem with my new MTE P7 - 2 Mode. The difference in my case is that its the low mode which is not working, high works fine. I have confirmed this by comparing it with another identical light (I ordered 3 of these from DX). I think what caused it to fail was...

Tips for making an 18650 battery holder

I have some of these plastic bottle preforms. A preform is basically a soda bottle before it has gone through the blow molding process to convert it into a full size bottle. They make a pretty good fit for 2 x 18650 cells with a little room to spare at the top/bottom. They are practically...
