A flashlight with seat belt cutter and hammer

As there are a lot of knock of ones around, I'm hoping you didn't buy a cheapo knockoff and are making your opinions based on that. Also, why test it on wood? It's a glass breaker, not a wood saw. The wood reacts differently to the needle/centre punch in it, the centre punch would probably get...

A flashlight with seat belt cutter and hammer

Just get a Resqme and don't look back. Safer to use as window breaker and it easily attaches to you gear shift, or somewhere on you car keys. Much safer than this huge thing that might go flying around the car in case of a crash and maybe even hurt you.

@DIWdiver Please re-read the thread title and OP ;) He says driver, not diver But yeah, underground, in a wet, muddy, damp conditions I don't want cheap parts in my light. But looking forward to what you come up with.

Cave Exploring Headlamp List - regularly updated, includes tech specs

I haven't seen one in person yet (fairly new light) so can't say much about the beam but by the looks of the pics it's 3 smooth reflectors which should provide a good spot, and as there are 3 of them, also a good amount of flood. Should make for an interesting and usable beam. I've been...

Cave Exploring Headlamp List - regularly updated, includes tech specs

I'm on the verge of buying an El Speleo Gnoma but I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. Likes and dislikes. My main plus is also my main minus, the battery holder. No descent means attaching it and rather large/not so streamline size and shape but still the abillity to use 3 different battery...

Do you at times feel as though you’re the “Thread Killer”?

Funny thing that thread killing. I once almost killed a 3+ year old thread. It was a Q&A game on EDCF. I posted a question no one answered in months. I felt bad and answered it myself. It lived again for a few pages but then ... Guess who killed it ... ;) It was the first thing I thought of...

Cheap, off brand LED lights aren't necessarily inexpensive

Re: Cheap, off brand LED lights arent necessarily cheap... The ony brand named flashlights I can buy in my town are Klarus and Led Lenser at one shop (actually cheaper than online) Every other store just carries cheapos or old maglites at inflated prices.

Is there a definitive answer as to why Eneloops are so hard to find?

Have you checked for Duraloops? Duracell rechargeable batteries with a white top are actually just re-branded Eneloops. Only one store here carries Eneloops but they all carry Duraloops. Just don't buy the black top ones, not the same thing. Here's a pic of the white top. The body has some green...

Re: Help! Hurricane Sandy will REAP Destruction! I Need the Best LED Lantern Availabl Cheap and easy, make a diffuser. Here's one I made for camping from an old pill bottle. Cut a hole in the top the size of a flashlight head, stick a flashlight in and you have a lantern. Even a keychain...

Lumintop ED10 (XP-G R5, 1xCR123A/RCR) Review: RUNTIMES, VIDEO, BEAMSHOTS and more

Hi, anyone have long term experience with this light? I'm considering it and the olight i3 and this one is actually rated for use with a RCR which is a very big plus for me. But the lack of reviews, posts, anything, ... on this light has me worried. I'd like to know how the one hand operation...

    4Sevens Quark AA body problem

No, they didn't and I didn't feel like going through the motions again. I did let them know of the problem and the CS guy wrote back that he did try it and he didn't have any problems screwing the head on my replacement body. If he had read my e-mail, he would have realised the head was...
