    Fenix CL25R lantern (1x 18650/2x CR123A, White/Red leds, micro-usb,350 lumens) Review

Received my lantern, in black, this afternoon from Amazon. Even though I'd read up on this extensively beforehand, it was still a bit of a surprise just how small this light is. Easily pocketable. Although I've only had it a couple of hours, I really like it and can see many use possibilities...

That news is worth a Monty Burns style "Excellent"!

Well I pulled the trigger, and I've got a black CL25R inbound from Amazon which should arrive tomorrow. How long does it take to charge to full straight out of the box? (And how do I contain my excitement while waiting for the cell to charge, and darkness to fall? [emoji1])

In the meantime, perhaps MacGyver a protective solution out of a Pringle tube and some foam?

8Ds! Wow, that's a real lump. I'm sure your parents would appreciate the weight saving of a CL25R gift.

kj2 thanks for a great review and thread. So tempted by this light as a small, handy, general purpose lantern. Love the idea of a tripod thread. Sticking it on one of my Gorilla Pods will make it so versatile!

Is there a light you won't sell?

I wouldn't sell any of my 3 E2e or E1e. With the Veleno drop-ins, LF lamps, bored out tubes, and accessories, they are my daily go to lights because of their perfect form factor and versatility. And now that the line is no more, I wouldn't part with them for anything.

Is there a light you won't sell?

Oops, sorry. This is what I meant: "Ooh wow. These are gorgeous. They look like they should be in the hands of a Terminator!"

Heading to Iceland in July ... Should I bother bringing a flashlight?

Yes Quicksilver, take lights. A small personal single cell light, maybe on a lanyard, which you keep on your person all the time should suffice for most tasks. Although it never gets proper night dark in Iceland during summer, the low sun during when it should be dark casts long shadows which...

How Many Flashlights Do You Carry Daily?

Three lights daily. Fenix P1 DCE Q5 always on my keychain so I never leave the house without it. My work bag always has a backup (currently an SF E1e w/Veleno 3 mode drop-in) and spare 123 primary cells. As it's still cold here my outdoor coat has big pockets so I could carry almost any of my...

    EDC flashlight storage...

That looks nice. Instead of a rubber band, which will eventually dry up and rot, try something like this for your case: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009V1WXY/?tag=cpf0b6-20 This is just for illustration. You can get cheap twin-packs in more appropriate lengths from outdoor or hardware shops. Cut...

Which lights do you find yourself using the most?

Although I EDC a couple of lights i.e. keychain, outdoor coat and work bag, these are 'just in case' lights that get used occasionally. The one light that is guaranteed to get used at least 5-6 times a day is my SF E2e OD with Lumens Factory HO-E2R lamp and a pair of AW RCR123 cells. This is my...
