Neat idea. I hope it catches on.

Needs more throw in my view to be a real flashlight though. I get that it's made for a crime scene. And needs to light up a vast area very well but that 50 foot range? I can use my $20 little Larry COB and do that.

It is a fail as an iphone6 attachment and light for video recording. But was wondering if it can be repurposed for a multi tool if there was an attachment and a magnet. Pic below came from another user here who 3d print it

It needs to be user repairable and fit iPhone14.
I think using it as a illumination for video is probably not the best idea and that is why it failed? Would it be better off as a right angle hands-free flashlight? where you can clip to your belt, shirt, etc? Or let it stick to metal using a magnet/clip combo like under the hood?

I did and that one doesn't work either.
What do you mean? Why doesn't it work? What was the reason surefire gave you?
i had the same problem. I spoke to the rep and they assure me that they are now sending out the newer production units. Been working great ever since.
