OK Mr Terralux. Good luck with your release.

Wow, so many questions. Will it have a clip? Will it be KISS or a more complicated UI. Lanyard hole? Floody/Throwy? Waterresistant to IPX standard? Regulated? Able to take 14500 Li-ions? Multi colour? Tactical? Mainstream B&M freindly Blisterpacked? Q5 or R2 or GD or P4 or K2 or P7 or something else?

Oh yes...will it be...the brightest AA light available... in keeping with this thread??

There are never too many 1 AA torches on the market. Paypal ready for incoming.

Bring it on!

Wolf Eyes not a true contender IMO

Wonderful as it is (and I'm sure it is) the Wolf Eyes Angel A really needs a 14500 to hit the 200 lumen mark, not a regular alkaline or NiMh AA. That may be why it hadn't been mentioned already.

"Not a performer on normal AA"
"...this is essentially a 14500 only torch, the electronics just can't drive the LED very well from NiMH, alkaline or E2 lithium."

I like my ITP C7 for a single AA. I seem to be favoring that light on my late night dog walking trips.

Re: Brightest Single AA?

The brightest currently available on a Li-Ion/14500 is the Fenix L1D (its current successor the LD10 is probably brighter, though I haven't seen Li-ion testing on it yet.)

the jetbeam jet 1 pro v2 its brightest like the L1D (ligtbox) 76/76
and the jet 1 pro ibs v2 own the L1D in throw 4850/3440

Ah, good catch, I couldn't find the numbers for the current Jet I, I should have known Selfbuilt would have it somewhere.

I'd wait for the numbers on the LD10 before writing it in stone though; it's brighter than the L1D on a NiMH, so there's a good chance it's the current 14500 champ.

And now that Selfbuilt has done an update, here are the current standings:

The brightest currently available on a NiMH is the EagleTac P10A. Second place by an imperceptible margin are both the Nitecore D10 (Q5) and Nitecore DI (Q5). (Stay tuned as the almost-arrived R2 versions of the Nitecores may win out..)

(The brightest all-time on a NiMH is still the discontinued JetBeam Jet I Mk IBS.)

The brightest currently available on a Li-Ion/14500 is the EagleTac P10A, by a sound margin.

(The brightest all-time on a Li-Ion/14500 is still the discontinued JetBeam Jet I Mk IBS.)
