*CLOSED*
The PIR 1.0 sales are over. There won't be a second round of them but we will make drop-in kits with a new regulator and possibly sell them loose too.
BIG RED WARNING!
We just found a bug in the software. If you set the shutdown temperature below your ambient temperature, you can't reach the menus any more and reset the shutdown temperature again. The workaround if you accidentally do this is to desolder the temperature sensor and from there reset the shutdown temperature. Regulators shipped after 2006-03-24 will not have this bug. We apologize for the inconvenience. /Andreas and Alexander
This is what all you hotwire guys and galls have been waiting for - THE SIGN UP.
Background info:
Beta testing
PIR 1 as a part of a 2300 lumen hotwire
This first run is limited to 80 units.
The facts:
Input voltage: ranging from 7 to 30 volt.
Output voltage: from 0 to U_{in}.
Current capabilities: more than enough
Size: height is about 10 mm, diameter is 30 mm (fits inside a KIU-socket, but is somewhat high)
Programmable voltage, cutoff and other things via one-button interface and LED's.
Two LED's for indicating various stuff.
Programmable soft start.
Efficiency: over 90%, about 97% for most users and over 99% in direct-drive mode.
Please note, this is a PWM circuit. It will not provide perfect DC out but your lamps fillament won't care what the waveform looks like and its lifetime and efficiancy will not be affected. You can not use it as a DC source for anything but lamps and possibly LED's with a resistor in series. It will not flicker.
Price:
$45. Extras are extra
The 80 first gets it. If you want more than 5 units, PM me first.
When you make your payment later on you can specify whether you want the temperature sensor and the LED's on the board or loose for you to place where you see fit.
If you need anything special, feel free to ask. Higher input voltage can be done at an additional cost and you might upgrade the transistor as well but not by much. Special software-features can be done upon request at an additional cost.
Shipping costs:
Via Swedish mail service (posten):
As a regular mail, with no tracking, 4-6 days shipping time to the US and similar to other places in the world: $3
As a registerd mail _with tracking only inside Sweden_, but shippable to anywhere in the world (yes, Posten sucks that bad) and insurance, 4-6 days to the US: $12
If you want to combine shipping with someone, that's ok with me. Just drop me a PM if so.
Payment:
Via PayPal:
We only have a Premier account so please add 4.1% + $0.30. Sorry about this... (One regulator with standard shipping and all fees is $50.50)
Send your payments to: DON'T PAY
Other available payment methods are Western Union, bank transfer (wire transfer) and money in a letter. PM me for details.
Programmer:
A USB-programmer is available for $40, including shipping and all fees.
With the programmer, you can update your firmware, do all your settings from your computer and soon download runtime plots from your regulator.

Video of the programming procedure
PIRGUI 1.01 software
Windows driver for the programmer
PIR 1 firmware 1.01
Available customizations:
If you want to use your own LED's or an illuminated button for example, you can opt to have the LED's separatly.
The same goes for the temperature sensor; if you want to measure something other than the PCB temperature, you can have it separatly too.
Please specify your options in your order.
