4300K is brighter.

In fact (everything else being equal) 6000K is > 20% less lumens than 4100-4300K range. This is a tuth accross the board for all bulbs OEM quality of aftermarket Asian bulbs as well. The Asian bulbs may very possibly even take a 25%+ reduction for 6000K compared to OEM quality 4100-4300K. These would include Philips, GE, and Osram (sylvania) brands. All three are made in Europe.

4300k is brighter.

Are 5000k bulbs as bright as 4300k?... 5000K is my fave color, so I am curious how much brightness I am giving up for the whiter tint.

thanks

You are giving up ~10% using Philips 5000K or GE 5100K compared to Philips or GE 4200K.

The Asian 5000K may be 15% reduction compared to these OEM 4200K bulbs.

Correction to prior post:

After some additional research, the Philips and GE ~5000K are only about 5% reduction in output not 10%. This is compared to ~4200K Philips, GE or Osram.

The Asians ~5000K are likely about 10% or worse reduction compared to these OEM 4200K bulbs.
