mag charger or ultra stinger?

If the UltraStinger is putting out 295 lumens, then the reflector is not very efficient at all. Maybe the plastic lens is mildly tinted too. The MagCharger that is listed at 175 lumens throws further. Maybe a tighter beam, but still that 295 claim seems just a little high to me.

unfortunatley, as im also a licensed emt, no personal protection devices can be carried, so the peper spray option on the tigerlight is out :-(

Yes, you can put an 1160 or even an 1111 lamp in the Ultrastinger.

Massive light output. Problem is, the plastic lens will soften and melt within minutes. Guaranteed from personal experience.

I just spent about $25 for a new lens reflector bezel assembly.

I a trying to work on a reliable way to remove the plastic lens and mount a 51mm glass lens in its place. A work in progress.

If you think you can hack the size and weight, a M*gcharger with an 1160 is awesome!!!

It comes with a glass lense, and you could carry the stock bulb as a backup easily!

hi-i live in australia and i was looking at getting a mag charger and a WA1160 bulb. (this review is also quite postive http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/maglite_magcharger.htm)

any recommendations on where to get this torch from ?
(as the local shops here are waaayy too expensive)

sorry, i dont check much on this forum.. but yeah.. they dont allow like guns/knifes/pepper spray

basically, it comes down to training. They train to protect yourself first, if its a bad situation, dont even get out of the ambulance, drive to a safe place and wait for cops.

And comon sense stuff like never let yourself get blocked in, keep your escape route open.. etc. and theres always that big d sized oxygen tank or a giant flashlight available
