this one?!?

nope, never heard of it...

but here it is for all's listening pleasure.

Reminds me of two things:

1. The Lawrence Welk Show. My folks and grandparents watched it--I would find somewhere else I needed to be.

2. The Muzak in my doctor's office waiting room back in the 1960's.

A bit before my generation-not my cup of tea.

"Dies Irae" by Verdi, as performed by Sir Georg Solti. The end of the piece leaves much to be desired, but... Never heard "Hymn of Nations" before, and need to listen further.

I prefer Leonard Berstein's take on Lacrimosa. He cut the tempo in half or even slower.
I love opera music… I even flew to another country to watch my friend perform. My buddies called me a homo despite having a wife and kids :)
I listened to opera when I was in high school. Still do, but the looks I got in high school were priceless.

Here's one I liked in high school but never would have admitted it.
"Hey Byk, you like that song by the English Beat?"

Playing it a few minutes ago I saw my bird bobbing her head to the music.

Minimag the gray cockatiel enjoys a good tune regardless who's playin' it.
