This is 10 years later, but the only UV light that I found that can fluoresce the $100 is the Nitecore CU-6 UV. I think it is a true 365 nm wavelength as it is not as purple as my other UV lights and fluoresces items like scorpions, credit card and drivers license items much brighter than the purple UV lights, which are 395nm or higher; closer to visible spectrum, hence more purple.
Nightstick Mini-TAC UV Penlight (2XAAA) is 365 nm… I don't have a $100 bill to test it on right now.
The Convoy uses a 780mW led, so the 3000mw CU6 has almost 4x the power, (and costs 5x as much)For the records. Convoy S2+ with ZWB2 filter.
Same results here with Jetbeam Jet-UV, barely lights up the old $100:The old (1996) $100s were notorious for having security threads that were very difficult to fluoresce under UV. The one I have just barely shows up as pinkish under my SRT7GT. The new $100 is better in this regard, though the security thread still isn't as bright as, say, the one on the $50 note, which comes up as a bright yellow.
