Bit too late for beamshots, i'll try tomorrow. On my run I did take the TK09 and PD35 with me and outside the TK looks (to my eyes) to throw just as far as my PD35, the PD35 just has a bigger hotspot. Both on fresh 18650.

Please take into account that the weather conditions were very bad.
A great deal of humidity and light fog.

This TK09 continues to surprise positively, small, powerful and without overheating.
I also made some short videos
This is the first video shot in a small garden, it shows the three power levels (15-130-450 lumens)

Other video: Tree at about 90/95 meters
The white wall on the left (in the field) is located approximately 125/130 meters

Thanks for the videos :)

Thanks Kj2 !
I have now added the last video.
Unfortunately I can not make videos in better places, I would have liked a video in a forest but are without a car.

Hey kj2. I know you have the R2 version of the TK11 (I have the R5) but how is the tint on the TK09 compared to the TK11 you have.

My TK11 is creamy white, while my TK12 (later named TK09) is pure white with very very slightly blue-ish tint.

Wow really? Forgot the R2 was such a nice tint. I'm sure the TK09 has a better tint than my TK11. I love it but it definitely has a slightly bluish/magenta tint to it.

Do like my TK12/09 tint more, than my TK11 has. But I'm a sucker for CW ;)

I'm bringing this thread back to ask you guys a question. Thanks for the nice review by the way. My favorite general outdoor light these days is still this 450 lumen TK09 but I would love to get an upgraded version. However, the newer TK09 only has a low mode of 50 lumens which is way more than I want for the low mode.

I'd probably love the new TK09 if it had a 4th (lower) mode but it doesn't. I also love the fact that these both always come on in high mode so I never have to remember which mode it is. It's great for when you're hiking/walking along and quickly want to light something up. I don't want to have mode memory.

Are there any competitors to the 450-lumen TK09 these days that always come on high first and have a decent low mode? Or is this still likely my best choice? Thanks!

For starters, great work on the review. I absolutely love this light, it is the the first fenix flashlight I ever owned. What I'm impresses me the most is the level of quality that has gone into this light. I have plenty of night, more expensive torches but the overall performance and quality of the tk09 still stands out.
